Who's my dean... and why should I care?

by Cindy Kane, Director of Student Involvement and Leadership

Calling all BSC students! A big piece of your academic leadership on campus will be changing in the coming year and YOU have the chance to influence it.

There is a search process underway that will bring us a new Dean for Humanities and Social Sciences and a new Dean for Science and Mathematics. You may be wondering... so what does that have to do with me?

Deans make big decisions around here. They hire faculty. They make budget decisions. They develop policies for your school. This is something students should care about because BSC's academic programs depend on strong leadership from the dean.

Want to voice your opinion on who gets hired? You can! Each candidate gets a meeting with a group of students and YOU can be part of that group. Just show up. Seriously, it's that easy.

Here's the list of times, days and locations that we know of right now. (there will be more schedule information available soon) You can get all of this great information on this website: http://www.bridgew.edu/Searches/Dean/

See you there!
